This is a stunning necklace of graduated hand-shaped pieces of heishi (or pucca) shaped Chiapas amber. The hang is approximately 18.5" with the largest bead having a diameter of 35" inches. The clasp is a lovely handmade sterling silver hook and the necklace is strung on heavy silk cord. It is quite lightweight for such an impressive piece and feels perfectly wonderful to wear. A dramatic and beautiful statement.

Mexican amber is among the rarest and highest qualities of amber in the world. The amber is of a long extinct species of tree and is probably about 25 million years old. The beads on this necklace are unusually bright and clear for a piece of this size!
